month of June
June has been a busy month for me, filled with learning, friendship, and plenty of fun activities. I have enjoyed keeping active, trying new things and staying involved with my community. I feel young at heart and enjoy making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.
I enjoyed visiting the Te Puke centre to catch up with everyone and play basketball. It is a fun way for me to keep fit, active and spend time with my friends and share a few laughs.
I also visited the Papamoa library for te reo storytime about Matariki that is in july, it was very interesting and I loved it. During the visit I discovered a copy of Mary Poppins and I decided to borrow it. I have enjoyed reading the book and comparing it to the role play and acting activities I have been involved in. Playing different characters and bringing stories to life has been lots of fun.
I have been following the FIFA world cup and cheering on Morocco, this is my team that I am supporting with my friend. I enjoy keeping up with the games, talking about the results at morning catch up.
I got to achieve one of my goals this month. It was to practise self care, sooo my staff helped me to set up a spa afternoon that I shared with my guys group. I had passionfruit tea and made a natural face mask out of ingredients in the pantry (very interesting) . I relaxed on a soft mat on the floor with my mask and a warm flannel on my eyes. I felt so good afterwards, nice and relaxed.
I have saved the best for last!!! I got to set up our centre for the arohanui masquerade ball with lots of themed decorations and lights. It was awesome to see everything come together. I scrubbed up really nice and so did my friends in our best outfits. I enjoyed dancing, having a fancy glass to drink from and some yummy snacks. The afternoon was filled with fun, music and good company. I hope we have a ball every year!.
Roll on July I cant wait…..
