month of may

May has been an awesome month, packed with great energy, hard work, and plenty of personal growth. It was my birthday this month. I turned 61. When I came to work everyone sang happy birthday to me, I felt so loved from my friends at Arohanui xx.

The bush walks this month have been a major highlight. Exploring the trails at Summerhill and McLaren Falls offered a great chance to unplug and connect with nature. A huge highlight has been tuning into the native bird sounds along the way, which has made these mid week treks incredibly peaceful and rewarding.

I did some fantastic hands-on work over at the Welcome Bay Hot Pools. It wasn't just about putting in the hard yards to help maintain the facility; there was also plenty of time earned to sit back, relax. I enjoyed a well-deserved soak in the natural hot water pool. Balancing good honest work with total relaxation was the perfect mix.

Sports was really fun this month. I tried a few new games, the best one was the human board game. This was a different challenge, tricky but fun!.

I felt really good when I got to deliver some flowers to friends at the Wilrose center. In appreciation for inviting us to join their waiata group, I loved doing the biggest pukana at the end of the songs.

I got to complete one of my goals in cooking. Guess what it was??? Cheese cake, of course lime flavor. I really really enjoyed it and I will make it again at home. It was so easy.

Overall, May has been a massive success for me. It provided the perfect balance of outdoor adventure, community inclusion, creative confidence, and physical fitness. I can't wait to keep this amazing momentum rolling straight into June!
